Our Ruhr University Bochum colleagues welcomed Dr. Michele Bucelli (Politecnico di Milano) at their University for three days of scientific exchange and collaboration.
Michele gave a talk on “An integrated multiphysics approach to modeling and simulating the heart”, presenting the work of the iHEART Simulator team at MOX Laboratory. His research focuses on multiphysics and multiscale computational modeling of the cardiovascular system, with applications in personalised therapy and in silico trials.
During the visit, they also discussed future directions for dealiiX, including:
· matrix-free methods in electromechanics
· mixed-precision approximations
· performance improvements for simplex elements
· the broader roadmap for the project
These collaborations strengthen the development of biomedical modeling and HPC across our community.
Thanks to all our RUB colleagues!
