Our colleague Martin Kronbichler (Ruhr University Bochum) is representing the dealiiX consortium at the 2nd Workshop on Readiness of HPC Extreme-Scaling Applications, part of ISC HPC 2025 in Hamburg.
His talk, “dealii-X: Preparing generic PDE solvers for exascale supercomputers” showcases our work in the EuroHPC Centre of Excellence dealii-X, where we are developing scalable, high-performance simulation software for biomedical applications — including fluid dynamics, (poro-)elasticity, and intracellular processes.
Built on the deal.II finite element library, dealii-X focuses on creating a comprehensive suite of linear and nonlinear solvers, optimised for heterogeneous supercomputers with CPU and GPU architectures from different vendors. Martin will discuss our latest algorithmic innovations and share insights into achieving performance portability across platforms.
As Exascale Computing becomes a reality, dealii-X is committed to ensuring PDE solvers are ready to meet the challenge and contribute to advancing science in Europe and beyond.
